How do you not fear?
Why do disasters scare us?
Are you afraid?
One of the biggest things we have to overcome at some point in our lives is fear.
How do you not fear something so scary and unknown?
I know I've been afraid and have felt very small.

Being prepared can help, that's a certain. Feeling secure in the ability to live on despite having no power or grocery store is a secure feeling. (Duh)
Knowing what the disaster is can also help.
If you're at risk of an earthquake, know what causes an earthquake, what happens during an earthquake and what to expect afterwards.
A lot of times, we fear the unknown. Don't let disasters be unknown.

What have we done?
- This blog: because of our blog, we've learned all about disasters, how to prepare, what do do during them etc. And I can tell you, knowing what to do helps a lot. I'm not kidding when I say to learn about whatever you may be at risk of.
- Our parents: Just talking and sharing our fears with someone has helped. You're not alone in the danger. You're not alone in your fear.
- Being grounded: This isn't the "go to your room" type of grounded. It's the type where you make sure your head isn't in the clouds. Don't focus on the disaster. Prepare for it, and then focus on life. For you are alive now, don't live focusing on the possibility that you won't be tomorrow.
- Anxiety relieving exercises: Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you just can't shake the anxiety. It happens! There's nothing shameful or embarrassing about getting help or needing to take a breather. In fact, it's healthy! Take care of yourself.
