I couldn't remember if we posted on shock or not so I decided to post on that today.
The first good thing that is pretty basic to know about shock is, to keep their feet higher then their head. Why? You want to keep the blood going to their head, so putting their feet higher then their head will keep the blood going to their head rather then their feet.
The second thing is, when people are in shock they will probable want water.
Don't give them water or food. When people go into shock their body shuts down. So it won't be able to digest the water and food. So don't give it to them even if they say they are really thirsty and their in shock. I know a lady and she works at a hospital and she is a life guard. She was treating a guy who was going into shock. And she was wondering if he would go into shock, then he asked for water and she had to tell him no because he was in shock.
Some signs of shock is:
Cool skin
Confusion
Thirst and dry mouth (again they will ask for water. Don't give it to them!)
Light head
Shallow and raped breathing
Weak, absent, or rapid pulse
Chest pain
Shock happens a lot after someone is seriously injured.
