Last day of school!!! Congrats on the graduates and have a happy summer everyone!
What is heat exhaustion?
How to avoid:
Drink lots of water or cold fluids
Protect your face and neck with a hat (if out in the sun)
If you start to feel too hot, get wet. Drizzle some water on you.
Keep your shirt on to limit your exposure to the sun. When you sweat, it will cool you if a breeze blows on the damp clothing.
Symptoms:
There are two types of heat exhaustion: Water Depletion and Salt Depletion .
Water Depletion signs can include: excessive thirst, weakness, headache, and loss of consciousness.
Salt Depletion sign include: nausea, vomiting, frequent muscle crams, and dizziness.
Common symptoms:
- Confusion
- Dark colored urine (sign of dehydration)
- Dizziness
