- First and foremost, always have a fire extinguisher in your home.
- Second and most obvious is water.
- Baking Soda. Use this on grease fires.
- Pan lids. You can put pan lids on top of a burning pot to smother the flames with lack of oxygen.
- Salt. Also use this on grease fires.
- Soil.
- Sand.
- Beer. Multiple cans may be needed. Make sure to shake up before you pour over the fire.
- Urine. Make sure to be careful when attempting this.
- You can always beat a fire with blankets, rugs or towels.
In case of an electrical fire, call the fire department immediately.
