This is a good list and link of what to put in your 72 hour kit.
WATER: Water is obviously something you will need. 3 gallons should be in your 72 hour kit. One per day.

FOOD AND UTENSILS: 1-3 days worth of none perishable food. Energy bars are a good choice. I have raisins in mine. Utensils such as fork, knife, can opener, spoon.

CLOTHES: I would suggest 1-2 pairs of clothes. And a pair of boots.
BEDDING: I suggest just a thermal blanket and heat pads. That's all I have.
FLASHLIGHT: With extra batteries.
WHISTLE: If you are stuck under something blow your whistle for a signal you are under there. Don't shout because you might inhale something.
WIPES AND SANITATION: Bring wipes and hand sanitizer. A filter mask. Along with a towel and bandages.
FIRST AID AND TOOLS: Wrenches and rods. First aid kit.
MEDICATIONS: Any type of medication you use, along with certain types of medicine.
MAPS AND CREDIT CARDS: Make sure you have a credit card in case you need it to scrape of a stinger or something. Credit cards can be very useful. Make sure it is a credit card you don't really care about. Make sure you don't care if that credit card is ruined.
