It's August everyone!!
This months theme is: Hurricanes
So who is at risk?
This is actually a pretty simple question. If you live near the ocean or certain seas, you should already be aware and prepared for an ocean storm.
However, if you live by the Pacific Ocean (especially the western Pacific) you're at a greater risk of a Hurricane then any other place.
So: Hurricanes, Typhoons, Cyclones, what is the difference?
They're actually the same type of storm, the only difference is where they occur
I know we've already gone over this, but I'll do it again just to make sure.
Hurricane: This term is used in the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and the central and northeast Pacific
Typhoon: Northwest Pacific
Cyclones: Bay of Bengal and Arabia Sea
Tropical Cyclones: southwest Indian Ocean
Severe Tropical Cyclones: southwestern Pacific and southeastern Indian Ocean
Thank you for your support!!!
As always,
